elicia Wins Melodifestivalen 2026 Amid Jubilation and Tears
Cheers, tears of joy, and champagne filled the air as the winner of the Melodifestivalen 2026 was announced: Felicia.
“It feels completely unbelievable. It’s impossible to describe—I’m just so grateful,” she said after her victory.
When asked whether she would remove her mask during the afterparty, Felicia made her stance clear.
“No, not at the afterparty. It’s honestly not worth it. There’s so much emotion tied to this mask, and just taking it off now doesn’t feel right.”
The artist has kept her face hidden from the public since 2022. At that time, she appeared wearing a pink balaclava as the controversial epa-dunk music star Fröken Snusk.
Now, as Melodifestivalen winner Felicia, she performs wearing a black lace face mask. Behind the mask is Felicia Eriksson, 24, from Stockholm, as previously reported by Expressen.
A Difficult Period After Fröken Snusk
Felicia stepped away from the Fröken Snusk persona following a dramatic split last year from producer Rasmus Gozzi and his record label.
In April 2025, Gozzi announced that the masked artist would be replaced after three years.
Since then, Felicia has been building a fan base under her own first name. She previously competed in Melodifestivalen 2024 with the song “Young and Free,” this time without the backing of Gozzi Productions.
She has also won the TV shows Masked Singer on TV4 and Spelet on SVT.
Now she has captured the hearts of Swedish viewers in Melodifestivalen.
“I’m so proud. This was a personal comeback for me, and going further now than before… nothing means more than that,” she told Expressen, reflecting on winning Mello after a turbulent period in her career.
The Woman Behind the Mask
Felicia Eriksson studied business and administration in high school and graduated in 2020. She has worked in the restaurant industry and in telephone sales.
In the radio program Söndagsintervjun, broadcast this winter on Swedish Radio, she spoke more about her personal life, including growing up with her mother and living with an absent father.
During Melodifestivalen, she took a small step toward revealing her identity by swapping her mask for a pair of large sunglasses.
Whether she will reveal her full face on stage at the Eurovision Song Contest this spring remains to be seen.
“There’s still a long time until Eurovision, so we’ll see then,” she said.
